The best analysis of the reality of President Obama’s cap-and-trade carbon tax proposal.

The Missing Power of the Grand Jury

Posted in General by Wayland Abernathy III on March 23, 2009

An intriguing post about the “4th Branch of the Government.” I really need to read more books other than the ones I read to my 2 year old.

Get Your Learn On…

Check these out and learn (or at least reinforce) something  new today.

Did you know that your rights are different from your wants? As my Dad always says , “Wish in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which one gets filled first.

Liberal women aren’t as attractive as conservative women. I figured as much, but here’s why.

Health insurance myths spouted by the MSM and Obama. Try reading the Census report, too.

Is Barack Obama leading the blind or blindly leading? Philosophy is not my strong suit. I blog so I am, right?

America, you made your bed, now lie in it. Or wake up and change the sheets.

A Card Check update. Big business is seeking alternatives to Union-backed legislation.

Is Obama punch drunk? Steve Kroft probably thinks so. So do a lot of the rest of us. Click here for Part 1 of the 60 Minutes Obama Interview video. Don’t ask me where Part 2 is – talk to CBS. Highlights from the interview can be read here.

The White House is optimistic the bottom is near and the economy will rebound this year. Not surprisingly, the GOP does not hold the same view.

Isn’t It Ironic?

The Rush Limbaugh Theory

Posted in Liberals, Rush Limbaugh by Wayland Abernathy III on March 23, 2009

I found a great synopsis of the Rush Limbaugh phenomenon on The Other McCain Blog. Phenomenon is too ‘left’ of a word, though. Distraction? Deterrent? Either works better to explain the Left’s focus on a popular radio talk show host – move along, nothing to see here.

Posse Comitatus Act of 1878

Posted in General, Homeland Security, Revolution, United States of America by Wayland Abernathy III on March 22, 2009

How does this 130 year old piece of legislation have bearing on our current political situation? I’m glad you asked.

I found a great posting about the subject here, by one Tom King, at his blog – Just One Man’s Opinion. This Act supposedly prevents the U.S. Military from being involved in homeland law enforcement.

Protestors Bussed to AIG Exec’s Homes

Posted in AIG, Barney Frank by Wayland Abernathy III on March 22, 2009

It is just this kind of dumb move that shows that many Americans have no idea what is going on. Obama must laugh every time he reads these kinds of idiotic things. Class war? You betcha. Why can’t these people going out of their way to harass AIG executives stop telling others how to live their lives? It seems to me that they don’t need the help – it is the other way around. I love my home, too. I still don’t believe that someone who has more money than I do should help me pay for it. That is the easy way out – which is exactly what our current Administration wants people to strive for. What a waste of good American people. Why doesn’t Obama have faith in us?

And why is it OK for Barney Franks not to be reprimanded for the highly insulting treatment he (and many uninformed Americans – to include most of Congress) has shown to these business people. If they decide to return some of their bonus, good for them. It is their money. After they pay taxes (another story for another time) they can do whatever they wish with their money. I won’t even get into the list of people that knew these payments were due by March 15th. You probably already know who they are.

The fact seems to have escaped the warped minds of those folks in Congress that they brought this upon themselves. Why not scapegoat the folks receiving the bonuses? Better them than us, is what Congress is saying. And they wonder why people in fly-over country have questions about the way things are being done in D.C.

Crazy, isn’t it?
